This discussion happened before the death of BlindJoeBiscuit and the whirlwind of destruction that was Session15.

There was more "what now?" discussion during Session16. As I understand it, the current plan is to drive Route 66 to Vegas, try to find the King and Queen of America, if it is still living, and then either confront the Wicked Witch of the West in L.A. or crown the Scarecrow King at Burning Man. [Rob]

Blind Joe

Angie helped Joe rewrite JudgmentDay into RedemptionDay, and his story ended on a relatively high note.

Reese

"I should note he's sitting on four failed Helpless notches, so he's going to be a tad unstable at the moment." Make that five. Reese is an unstable son of a bitch at this point; expect some irrational behavior. I'll try and get caught up on Dear Brothers before next session, so people have an idea of what to expect. I would certainly like to put the insanity behind him, but that may not be in the cards.

I gave you step by step directions on how to trepanate him. What more do you want? [Rob]

I'll keep him playable and vaguely functional in society, though.

Waylan

WaylanBeulay has firmly decided to ride along his little brother's show for the moment. Ideally he wants to free the Fire-Ka in Chicago, ride Route66 in a blazing fire of ka to LosAngeles to deal with his past there. Than he too wants to see the new king do his part at BurningMan. Unfortunately Waylan believes that requires a literal interpretation of Burning Man.

Seems to me that we can hold off on the decision to crown Ben and where to crown him, particularly if Ben's not sure what he wants -- maybe it makes sense to deal with Chicago and LA first. [Bryant]

I think we need to crown him in Chicago (and unleash the Fire-ka in the process thus defeating the goldbugs), then ride route 66 in a halo of fire on an orichalka steed -- Waylan's LS6 -- to defeat the Wicked Witch of the West, freeing Waylan of his past (thus allowing him and his car to ride up into the heavens) and deafeating the Silverites and the Selenim in one blow. Than to seal the next Age of America we burn the king at Burning Man thus inaugurating an age of creativity and anarchy (good anarchy of course). Ben being the internet type I'm sure his Kingship and Ascension will mean the internet is a huge part of that. But I'll be honest I feel a little weird trying to impose Waylan's agenda. The problem is I'm the newest player but in many ways Waylan has the firmest of agendas in the group, which can be an odd mix. [Jere]

That's a good observation, Jere. The best way to deal with this might be to make it part of the story. One of the last things Danny said in the Hell House session was to warn Ben that Waylan probably had his own agenda. Do the others want to let Waylan come in and direct the show? Alternatively, will Waylan be able to give up the wheel (figuratively and probably literally as well) to Ben as king? And of course Ben is quite within his rights not to want to be crucified or burned or anything like that. [Rob]

Not want to be burned and crucified? What type of king wanna-be is he? [Jere]

Yep. From an OOC standpoint, my big priority is to validate the visions of the cornfield and the cross. Those have been a very strong driver for the group all the way back to Memphis and I would like them to have relevance to whatever we wind up doing. Other than that, I'm not so picky about the details of where we do what in what order. [Bryant]

Black

Black. Must. Kill. Annabelle. Cairo.

Danny

Retired to Mexico.

Ben

Ben has bought into this whole destiny as king and crucified in a cornfield thing, but the ice is still thin. All it would really take would be someone sitting him down and telling him just how damned foolish all this is for everything to come crashing down. So he chooses not to think too much about it just yet.

As for the crucifying being done in Chicago, Ben's not down with that. Too few cornfields in Chicago, and everything so far has pointed in that direction. Not going back now. Only forward.

Ben is a bit resentful of Waylan's forceful entry on the scene and in particular what he seens as Waylan pushing Reese around. This may play out in interesting ways.

He's also uncomfortable with everyone asking him what to do. Not a good leader. Every Man a King, none shall wear a crown. We're all kings, Ben thinks. His own destiny is perhaps to show the way more than to lead.

Still not sure how to integrate the internet aspect. In once sense it's part of the sacrifice, leaving it behind. In another a haXXor-king is kind of cool, and the idea of Grandpa Dan and his crew not grokking PayPal and internet cash is really appealing.

I think PayPal is still too limited of a change. Waylan firmly believes that breaking out of the Gold/Silver trap is the only hope for America. We need to find the Third Way, not readjust the fallen hopes of a past era. [Jere]

I wonder if elevating Ben on the Gold Chakra was a bad idea? Oh well; too late now. [Bryant]

The FerrisWheel is a gold chakra? Doh! Why didn't someone notice? [Jere]

Nah, we totally knew. If you look at the SevenCities page, you'll note that the Golden City is in Kansas. [Bryant]

Oh that we knew. But thats why the spot we choose was so good. It had multiple Kas represented. I'm not worried about raising the king in the Land of Gold, that can be taken as part of the whole throwing the gauntlet. [Jere]

It's perfect, actually, if he's going to assume Grandpa Dan's power and transform it. [Chris]

Angie

Okay, sadly my only goal, apart from being a successful musician without selling my soul to the devil, is to keep y'all from crucifying Ben (well, it will be once I realize you're being literal and not figurative about it).

But I did want to say that I thought about it a bit and while we were at the Mexican radio I wanted to write a song and record it live for the station. That way, when we leave, I'll forget all about the existence of the song, and it will truly be lost. And my music will echo in the heads of crazy people down through the ages. Woohoo!
