The UnknownUSA list is a mailing list and online forum for discussion of American Forteana and Fortean Americana. For serious students only. (No gamers allowed.) Sure, it's populated by freaks and geeks like anywhere else on the net, but the signal to noise ratio is pretty good, and Ben's been on the list long enough to know who to take seriously and who to ignore.

BenSiegel ("batboy23") is respected here, though he hasn't posted as much as he used to since graduation. He posted the Disney tunnel maps last spring and debunked rumors of the elusive circuit rave known as Oz. It's not secret, exactly, but the URL is scrupulously unadvertised. The regulars consider themselves amateur archaeologists of a HiddenAmerica, and just finding the list is the first qualification for membership. Elijah Snow gets quoted in a lot of .sig files. Five years ago it was Fox Mulder.

Aw heck, I just noticed we already have a page for UnknownUSAWeb. While typing this up, I thought it was funny we didn't already have one. Oh well, the crufty slapdash organization of all these pages is one of the Wiki's charms.
