Flicker is a deeply disturbed look at the history of film. It manages to tie in everything from early Christian mystery cults to Thomas Edison in a sweeping conspiracy seeking to destroy all life on Earth, using the most well-loved of American entertainment, the movies. More interestingly, the book also questions what it is about film that so enthralls us, a look at its conceptual history that is both enlightening and disturbing. Inspired MONARCH's Dr. Castle.

I myself was pretty disappointed by the ending of this book. But I did enjoy it up to that point, and I agree with everything Jeremiah has written here. [Rob]

Having finally found a copy, I agree with Rob regarding the ending -- the book had more strength before it turned into a rant about the counter culture. Also, Rob, you might have warned us that reading this book makes it impossible to relax while watching movies. [Bryant]

Now why would I want to do that? [Rob]
