I don't know if it will ever come up in our game, but in my imagination America's ascended avatars for The Lovers are Bonnie and Clyde, those archetypal White Trash Lovers On The Run. I had an idea for a storyline involving their death car(s), from which they ascended at the moment of their final ambush. The fact that there are two death cars claimed to be the True Death Car of Bonnie and Clyde (one is real, the other is actually the one from the movie) seemed to me appropriate for the duality of this card, and I figured two modern day lovers could build up a lot of mojo by stealing both of these cars and, I dunno, driving them from opposite ends of the country into a head-on collision or something. The Lovers is indeed a card of Bisociation (see Ken Hite's ST Tarot for more). It's also a card rife with alchemical symbolism; i.e., the Chemical Wedding. [Mike]
