The Invisibles was a brilliant comic book by Grant Morrison, published in three volumes. The second volume draws a heart around America in red lipstick. The protagonists -- the Invisibles -- battle against the Outer Church of the Archons. Or against themselves. The hallucinatory Manichean battle of the Invisibles (not to mention the general feel of underdogs on the run) rings reminiscent for the KnightsOfTheRoad.
