"[F]ew in public affairs act from a mere view of the good of their country, whatever they may pretend; and, tho' their actings bring real good to their country, yet men primarily considered that their own and their country's interest was united, and did not act from a principle of benevolence."
-- Benjamin Franklin, Autobiography
Well, he was a Freemason.

- Heh. That says it all, doesn't it? [Rob]
He appears on the $100 bill. Ergo, it's all about the Benjamins.
LegalTenderCoxey (through a deranged vision so it probably wasn't him) claimed Ben Franklin was the original magus of America, the ascended
avatar of
The Magician.

- You're probably right not to trust the visions. The part about Ben Franklin is true, though, as was Coxey's claim that that is why he named Ben Ben. There's a good Suppressed Transmission on Franklin as the American Magus - stealing fire from the gods with his kite and key, playing both sides in the Masonic Civil War, self-consciously constructing the image of America for Europe and for itself - which I can't link to as I have let my Pyramid subscription lapse.
