With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
But Angie, Angie, you can't say we never tried
Angie, you're beautiful, but ain't it time we said good-bye?
--"Angie," The Rolling Stones

Angie grew up in a shack on the Savannah River. Her daddy was a handyman for the fancy uptown bed and breakfast set. Her mamma was the kind of mean that slaps you in the face and then hollers at you to quit yer cryin'. She ran off when Angie was ten. Daddy did his best by her, but he was busy making ends meet. The best thing he gave her was music... they played and sang every chance they got when Angie was younger.

As she got older, though, he started having more to do with the bottle, and when she started hanging out with JoeyDell and his no-talent, lowlife friends (LastWish) he gave her the 'As long as you live under *my* roof' speech one too many times. She got the message and moved out. She and Joey lived together and while it wasn't ever love and it wasn't often good she stayed, sometimes for the music, most times because she was too proud to go back home with her tail between her legs.

When their band caught a break and started gigging out of state she was sure her ship had come in, until the fights, and the groupies, and all hell broke loose after a bad show in a skanky blues bar in Memphis.
