"What is America?"

Waylon knows that America is an engine, just like an automobile engine, and there are seven mystical elements that make it run. These are, essentially, the seven types of elemental energy or "ka" as described in Nephilim: air, fire, water, earth, gold (solar-ka), silver (lunar-ka -- The Moon), and finally orichalka, the anti-ka.

Ka, mana, mojo, happy elf juice, whatever you want to call it-it's the life force of the country and it comes in those seven flavors. Its currents make the ley lines that are traced by America's roads (and the roads, in turn, channel and harvest the ka). It pools in places, too, most notably in seven nodes-known in American legend as the SevenCities of Cibola.
