A tiny, highly advanced republic thrust up against the Core?'s east-central coast. It has traded with Paridon for over a century, shipping out grain and other foodstuffs in return for the latter's advanced technologies.

By all accounts the Dementlieuse government is quite fractured and exceedingly fractious, insofar as the republic itself is simply a collection of allied aristocratic estates (les Propriétés allié) which have agreed to be loosely governed by a representative council. Said councilors are, of course, always selected from among the landed aristocracy -- a fact which goes a long way in explaining why Paridon has maintained such cordial relations with the republic.

Port-a-Lucine is where the aristocratic council meets, and so it is Dementlieu's defacto "capital."
